Gallagher, Myra - Obituary

Obituary for Myra (Gallagher) Arasimowicz as published in the 10 Sep 2002 edition of THE HARTFORD COURANT newspaper.

Myra (Gallagher) Arasimowicz, of East Street, Stafford Springs, formerly of Wethersfield, passed into eternal rest Friday (September 6, 2002).

She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore L. Arasimowicz, and daughter of the late Bridgette (Mangan) and Patrick Gallagher. She was raised and educated in Yonkers, NY.

Myra graduated from Yonkers High, Morse School of Business and Yonkers College. She was employed at Hartford Hospital until her retirement 15 years ago.

She is survived by her only child, Janet (Arasimowicz) Drouin M.A.; her son-in-law, Rene Drouin; and her two "reasons for living", granddaughters, Renee Ann Drouin and Erin Marie Drouin, with whom she resided.

She is also survived by a step son, Steven Peck of Rocky Hill; a sister, Mary Kulakowich; and a nephew, Robert Kulakowich, both of Port Orange, FL; a nephew, Gene Brown and his family of Poughkeepsie, NY; a much loved cousin, Peggy Curry and her family of Hartford; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Edmund, Hugh, and Joey; and sisters, Kathleen, Eileen, Delores and Esther.

A private burial was held September 9, in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Janet would like to thank the nursing staff at Hartford Hospital ICU, especially Jane. Also, Dr. Louis Compietello and Yvonne of Enfield. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Sultan Alam Quraishi of Enfield for the years of excellent healthcare, support, friendship and love he gave my mother so she was able to enjoy and enrich the lives of her two granddaughters. You will be missed forever, Myra, but you will live in our hearts forever. Erin Go Bragh!

Rose Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Published in The Hartford Courant on September 10, 2002
