Brief History of the Clemente Family

Joseph Richard Clemente - He was born in May, 1862 in New York City, New York.
We find him first in the 1888 New York City Directory: CLemente, Joseph H., Clerk, living at 105 Henry
We find an entry for him in the 1890 New York City Directory: Clemente Joseph, bartender, h 163 Madison.
The 1900 US Census lists his father's birthplace as New York, and his mothers birthplace as Ireland.
William Wilson Clementes Baptismal Cert - states that Joseph's middle initial was "H". Unsure if the H stands for Clemente.

Col. William Wilson Clemente - He served in WWI and in the 488th Port Battalion in WWII. He later was involved in a family insurance agency, and served as President of the Tracy Tugboat Company in NYC.
William W. Clemente's family originally lived in Brooklyn, later moving to East Rockaway, New York.
His descendants have continued a military tradition, including his son; LCDR William Joseph Clemente, who served in Korea and Vietnam; and grandsons who continue the tradition today serving in Iraq.
